A Catalyst

I’ve always wanted to move to New York, and got the chance when NYU gave me a $50,000 scholarship. And that still wasn’t a full ride! No wonder our generation is so disillusioned!

My first time in New York was to tour college campuses. I brought two DVD’s with me, seasons 3 and 4 of “30 Rock.” Binge watching before it was socially acceptable. “30 Rock” is about television writers. A show about a show? It’s meta-existence was an acknowledgment of New York’s significance.

Learning about my different influences who started their career in New York was like reading a comic book origin story. 

It was lore, like how Hal Jordan got his ring or how the force flows through all living beings.
